Hello i am in the middle of replacing my timing chains and was wondering if any one knows if i can rent the tool to set my timing or am i stuck buying it?

 

A tool rental place will have it to rent, they are expensive enough to warrant a rental market.
Your 2001 will have the 4.0l SOHC engine, 2000 and earlier Rangers had the 4.0l OHV(pushrod) engine

Ask for Ford SOHC 4.0L V6 Cam Service Kit or Ford Master Cam Tool Kit

unfortunately no when I installed the rear sprocket holder tool my gear was to big and didn't hold it position so when i went to draw it up it went on a little crocked and got stuck and messed up my camshaft
