Icon5 4.0 SOHC starting problem

I have a 02 4.0 auto and when I try to start the truck when its cold it dosent want to crank over. I read some other post but couldnt find what I was looking for. I just changed the oil spark plugs and air filter less than 1k ago, changed the fule filter about 5k. Could it be the starter?? where is the starter at?

just to clarify, are you talking the engine is cold (as in hasn't been running today), or the outside temp is cold (as in don't stick you tongue to a metal pole)?

Sounds like maybe the fuel pump may be getting weak. How many miles on the truck?

Turn the key to on and wait for a few seconds before trying to start it.

Last time my truck was acting like that it was due to a poor battery.

At first I didn't think it was the battery because I bought a new one 3 months ago but I took it back to Batteries Plus and turns out I had a faulty battery.

Yay for free replacements.

I know this could be stupid but have you checked your battery wires and starter wires?

It's not the starter if it cranks. Definently is a fuel issue. More than likely the fuel pump. I think mine just went out on me at 47K. (Waiting to hear from dealer)
