not bad.....

i raced a friends 2002 mustang gt with a vortech in it and i did not lose by more than 2 car lengths from a hole shot to about 70. she pulled at like 50 but until then it was pretty close! pretty impressive, the gears and locker really help.

no he only pulled tht well bcuz he probably has like fifty stickers on the rear window of his truck.... and if you average a gain of like +5 horsepower for every sticker.... he would have like 250 extra horsepower.... haha! dude a girl sandbagged you in a race....

You guys crack me up. Running on the street is not like running at a track where everything is fair.

Who's to say he did'nt get the jump? Who's to say she didn't launch too low in rpms? ect...

My 06 ranger is fairly strong and I know a thing or twenty about drag racing too. The one time I had it to the track I went 10 flat in the 1/8th. And 15.5 in the 1/4 Somebody in a stang that did'nt know how to do anything but "floor it" would have been in my mirrors up to about the 50-60 mark w/o a problem.

Case in point: One of my runs was against a modded SRT4 pushing 18psi. That's a 12 second car, but yet because of his in ability to drive.. I beat him for the first 1000ft. Yeah he finally reeled me in and F-L-E-W by me on the big end. But because of driver skill on my part.. a little ole ranger was spankin his purty little dodge!

Are you sure she knew you were racing her? Because I dont think even "I" could keep up with my self racing my 04 ranger against my 86 mustang (if such a race was even possiable)

The TD Chevy with the bully dog I believe. But that’s about it in this post. I just cant see a 4.0 ranger beat even a stock mustang.

Think about it. The V8 mustang is faster than the V6 that only makes sense, right. Well the new V6 mustang is a 4.0 and if my facts are right they are DOHC. And if I still have my facts straight they're listed at more power than the ranger. Now factor this into the equation. Again if I have my facts right and I think I do. The ranger weighs more than the mustang. Weight is the enemy of any racer regardless of what you are driving or what style of racing you’re performing.

I will gladly recant anything I have said about the comparison of the two vehicles but I have SERIOUS DOUBTS about the ranger VS mustang scenario you’re touting.

Especially if the ranger is a stock or very mildly modified. I consider mildly modified as this, K&N, after market exhaust either cat back or custom, EEC Reprogramming, Gears and possibly even a pulley or set of pulleys. At $3k+ and all the labor just for the added HP of a blower I don’t consider a ranger with a blower mildly modified. Not even close.

Now, further history on why I think what I do. I own a 04, 4.0 Ranger, Edge 2wd, with a 5speed, and 3.55 Gears with the stock Ford Traction Lock, and I own a highly modified 86 Mustang that I am done modifying. I could put a blower on the mustang but I would not be able to put the kind of boost into it to really make use of all that money sitting under the hood. Basically I am as hot as I could get just short of having a blower and no way would my ranger even come close to the stang. Except if the race was from the stop light line to the crosswalk closest to you.

I am not busting on you but…… I just don’t see it. I cant even make myself see it. Not even close.

your not talking about matt with the red gt, vortec, and mt et streets are you? if so, i know you got your *** handed to you, cuz he runs 11.2 in the 1/4.

where you at? ill run ya, if you cant beat me, i sure as he double hockey sticks know you are not running with a mustang, let alone supercharged. better yet, come down to gainesville on wednesday night, see how fast that thing really is.
