a nutless 4.0

i need help. my 4.0 has some srious performance problems. at 3800 and 4100 rpms it looses power and drops down. at the rev limit rather than pegging out it breaks apart any ides?

Auto or manual? What year of truck? When driving, or in neutral?

its a 99 automatic it only does the power loss when driving but it beaks up at the revlimit all the time

my 99 gmc sierra did something like that it was the fuel pump i would get you fuel pressure checked if i were you
