4.0 ohv intake manifold question

are all the 4.0 ohv intake manifolds interchangeable? have a 2000 and am thinking of getting the older aluminum style if swappable and can find one for a decent price thanks

no one knows if all the 4.0 ohv intake manifolds are interchangeable?

you arent talkin about the plenum.. the intake manifold itself? your intake maniflod isnt metal? my 98 should be the same as yours and the plenum is plastic and the manifold is aluminum

mine is plastic but am thinking of swapping to the older style

thats not the manifold, thats the plenum as mentioned above thats plastic.

Well.. maybe it comes down to therminology. No matter what they are called there is an upper and a lower "intake".

The upper has not only the plenum (large open area) but it also has the runners that go from that plenum to each lower intakes port.

Unless you have heads, cams, and spin it past 6k there won't be a performance benefiet. The stock intake is actually very very good at maximizing low and mid-range TQ for such a short stroke motor.

older style manifold is also stock... just prefer the looks, etc of it.. the intake gaskets are different part numbers so don't think direct swap? the older 4.0 also has coil mounted in same place?

Whats the plenum? I have a 94 with a 4.0 and the upper and lower intake are both metal.
