passenger side timing chain guide broke during repairs, redo engine timing?
I removed my engine on my 2001 ford ranger 4.0L v6 SOHC to do work on cylinder heads and coolant system but my dad broke the passenger side timing chain guide when checking to see if there was any broken components inside the timing chain area I got a new guide for it from the internet but haven't installed it yet before knowing exactly what to do. the chain never dropped into the engine but does the timing need to be redone even though the sprockets never came loose around the internal timing gears and the damage happened during repairs and not while the engine was running? if I do what parts do I need to replace and why? please help this is my first engine removal and I have almost no experience with complex things like the engine timing
