polishing the throttle body

heard it helps and im thinkin bout doin it. not too sure if it will even make a difference in anything at all, what do you think?

Not on a stock motor. You can shave off the threaded portion of the screws though. That alone will help to decrease the delta P across the throat of the TB.

On a stock motor your real limiting factor is the harmonics of the bottom end. And even if you could rev it to 6000+ the cams/heads are the next choking point.

Polishing your throttle body will only help gas milage.. to get all of the build up and gunk off of it...

We do it every day when we do the 3step fuel cleaner...

I don't think so tim.. (a show from the 90s)

The only way to improve part throttle pumping efficiency is to decrese delta P across the TB. And that can only be achieved one way on a modern EFI engine. (electronicly not mechanically)
Leaning out the a/f so as to cause more throttle opening to get the same speed.

The farther a TB is open the less of a presure differencial (sp?) there is across it. Meaning.. the pistons going down don't have to work as hard to pull in air. So less work is put into pulling in air and more of it goes to the crank and pushing the vehicle forward.
