Problem with Ranger Speedo not working

Ok, this is weird......my speedo doesnt work, the auto down for the window doesnt work (window goes up and down but the automatic thing where its supposed to go down doesnt), my dome light doesnt work, and the airbag light on the dash stays lit when im driving. Everything else works fine? Could anyone know what the problem be?

info on the truck? have you done anything (mods or otherwise) to it recently

It is possible that you have lost the power or ground for the speedo, GEM and Restraints Module.

The fuse is #26 in the dash fuse panel.
The ground is under a cover on the transmission tunnel below the center of the dash.

You really should stop wearing a speedo while driving your ranger!

You may have a real electrical problem but it's more likely that something hot grounded while doing a mod. It's a good idea to disconnect the negative battery cable when working on the electrical.

armin922 02-05-2007 01:00 PM

but i wasnt doing anything electrical wise....Just plugged the wire into the hitch harness on the truck.....

Any small spike in the electrical line can blow a fuse. Its really nothing to worry about unless it keeps blowing the same fuse over and over, then you would most likely have a bad ground.
