Top Idler Pulley Wobble

Hi All,

I replaced my serp. belt with a Gatorback this weekend on my '01 and noticed a bit of wobble on the top Idler pulley on my 4.0L sohc. No noise, no squeaking. Is this a bad bearing? I searched a few topics and didn't see much (yeah Im a newb!). I know it probably doesnt matter but truck has 54K miles.

Thanks for any comments.

check the bolt. if its tight then the bearing is bad and youre going to need a new pulley... only 30$ or so

Yeah, the bearing was bad. I replaced it with a nice Goodyear to match the belt. Also, the Idler tensioner pulley was lookin' a little wobbly so it got replaced as well. 40 bucks for both at Autozone - not bad.

Thanks again Jeff and all the awesome R-F people!
