Icon2 Radiator Cover

Hey guys,
I haven't seen any posts on here about covering your radiator in winter. Its -15*c (getting colder to) in Winnipeg right now and my truck is taking a long time to warm up. Hell, it even runs cool. Only 1/4 (highest I've seen it) on the stock temp gauge.
Should I cover the from of my rad with something. I have a piece of heat resistant plastic that I can cut to fit it perfectly. Maybe even cut some air holes if I end up running to hot.
Anyway I'm just looking for thoughts, options, experiences.
I drive a 2004 4.0L FXII, bone stock.
Jason

PS. I also think my fan clutch seized as it runs all the time, e-fan next year.

I was a Ford water pump engineer for 6 years.. and **if** everything is running properly you should'nt have to do anything. It ought to reach full temp w/o a problem.

If it's not, I'd replace the stat first. If still not right, I'd replace the temp sensor. (as they go bad the guage reads low) Oh.. and replace that fan clutch or get the e-fan. Spinning that thing all the time just wastes gas and overcools the whole engine compartment. It can also suck in and plug up the rad with snow/ice. Just keep in mind that engine temp is 100% controlled by the stat.
