Replacing the Temperature Coolant Sensor
Replacing the Temperature Coolant Sensor
Truck was overheating so I brought it to my local shop. They quoted me $700 to replace the temp sensor and said they needed to remove the intake yada yada yada. Bought the part for $35, watched a youtube video and I was done in 1 hour. There was no reason to remove the intake. In fact, I think you might be able to get this job done without even removing the thermostat housing.
Yes, +1 on doing it yourself
But temp sensor(computer) or temp sender(temp gauge) have nothing to do with overheating, they can "report" overheating, but have no control on why the engine was overheating
