Rough engine

So the last few weeks my engine has been acting funny. Some of the symptoms are when I am driving with or with out the AC on, when I shift into neutral my RPM's with jump up to 2000 amd stay there for a few seconds. Also when I am shifting and I engage the clutch the RPM's will sometimes jump. My next question is when I am at a light with the AC on my RPM's are at like 1400-1500, when I turn off the AC is drops back down to 800ish, is this normal? Then quite often when at idol when it dosent jump RPM's it feels like the truck wants to stall, not a big shake but more noticeable then in the past.

In the last 2 weeks I have cleaned my K&N FIPK, cleaned the MAF, and the throttle body sensor ( the one under the throttle body cover on the right hand side).

Does anyone know what it might be... maybe a vaccum leak, etc...

Thanks,

Jake

Did you unplug the battery after you installed the new sensor? I installed a new one once without and my idle RPM was really high. Disconnect the neg battery terminal, turn the headlight switch on for like 15 seconds, turn it off, then reconnect battery.

I have heard of people using a spraying a mist of water offer their engine to see if there are any air leaks, maybe I will try that.

Kinda sounds similar to what my Bronco was doing back in the day. After cleaning my MAF, it didn't do it for awhile. Then it started up again. I cleaned it again, and it hasn't done it since.

It was also throwing codes.

Maybe try cleaning it again. I have some cleaner if you need more. Maybe you just need a new MAF.

I found the dirty little *****.

Dont mind the cuts on the ends of the hose, those were from me cutting to get it off. You can clearly see the middle of the hose had been compromised.

I replaced it with some vaccum hose I bought from Checkers. It wasnt molded so I hope it holds up.
