Running valves on a 4.0 OHV

I am doing a head gasket on my 4.0. What is the procedure for adjusting the valves? I have never done a cyl head before.

Thanks,
Jon

Sweet. Don't reckon you remember the torque spec and sequence?

Great.

My valvetrain is... lets just say "broken in good". All components, valves, pushrods and rockers are really showing their age. :( I made a trip to the parts store earlier and they didn't have any head bolts so I guess there is no way for me to finish this up tonight.

It really seems like I should be able to slide this cylinder head out without unbolting the other valve cover and removing the lower intake manifold but something is keeping it held down. Thoughts?

Exhaust manifold is off, head bolts are all out, shaft/rockers/pushrods are out, and the bolts going from the lower down through the cylinder head are out. This is the passenger's side.

Cheers,
Jonathan
