wait... ur belt still squeeks after replacing the tensioner?
i had a 3.0 in my old truck that squeeked ALOT.
i took it to a shop and they said it was the water pump.
it ended up just being the tensioner.
and it sounded fine after that was replaced.
any idea wut ur prob could be?

i have no idea. its funny though it never squeeks until i hit 2,450 RPM. and the belt looks fine and has a new tensioner. im thinking of just replacing all the pullies and calling it a day.

i'm still a bit confused on these. Ok i get the different pulley size for the crank, but then you add a different size for the water pump and the alt., so those turn at the same rate as stock +/- a bit, right? so all that is the same is tensioner, P/S and a/c[where applicable]. So what really is the difference then?

They reduce the work for all the accessories and add a few horspower to the wheels instead of the rest of the engine. Its like replacing a manual fan on a V8 with an electric fan . There would be no pull or stress on the engine with the electric fan or in this case the underdrive pulley set. It will increase the MPG's and give you probabaly a few HP gains as well. i had a set on my mustang and it gave a few HP gains and a few MPG's, but ran the car a little hotter due to the fact it didnt spin the water pump as fast.

didn't notice too much mpg improvement, maybe 1mpg, but didn notice hp gain, much more responsive, good boost through rpm range. got the water and alternator pully so everything seems to be running fine like before, just a bit more power.
