Spark plug trouble....

I changed the sparked plugs and wires and now my truck runs like crap.. shaking and smells terrible at the exhaust.. I'm pretty sure I hooked it all right but, suggestions are great.. It won't drive well at all.. Maybe I disconnected something in the tight *** places FORD leaves for all of us to do easy things?? lol AND! Does anybody got one or know where I can get a diagram of the wires to see what goes were?

I did the same thing. Check the wires. Make sure they are in the correct position on the coil and make sure they are pushed in all the way. You should here a click when the are on all the way.

FIXED THE PROBLEM.. I cracked two of the spark plugs, putting them in earlier. Thanks!

Something feels off.. It stalled today too.. I've checked everything and I'm sick of dealing with issues from something so simple as spark plugs and wires.. It's pissing me off.. any ideas.. Is there a certain brand that work better??

Many of the guys here report problems with using differing aftermarket plugs.

Yeah, well your right on there. Autolite makes motorcraft. The gap is correct too. Did you damage one of the wires maybe?

Here's what happened! I didn't know what I had done with my truck, I had a check engine light on that was flashing.. had no power, the truck was basically running on about 3 cylinders. After trying many things I stupidly drove to advance. When I got to advance and it showed the codes for mis-fire 1, 4 & 5. Also the cat was glowing red hot. Well, I switched the wires on 4 & 5.. that made them fine. 1 was a cracked spark plug and I replaced that. No more check engine light.

It ran "better" still little power.. I know the spark plugs and wires are done and fine BUT now, three days have passed and I have a hesitation and it idles a little rough. It's like it's choaking for air but I think it's the cat... I think I may have damaged what was left of it.. The truck was getting slower before and thats why I did my 100,000 mile tune-up.. maybe the cat was getting more and more clogged and I just managed to **** it off the other night with all the mis-fires.. Does this sound right??

yeah. that is entirely possible. Cats can make on hell of a running problem and if the yget red hot they tend to go bad.
