Spark plug wires, do the wires themselves matter?
Did my spark plugs today, and did them one at a time, and wires go from the distributor to the right spark plug. I know that the distributor points going to each spark plugs matters but do the wires them self matter? I replaced my wires and just wondering if I used a wire for example meant for cylinder one, but used it on cylinder two to distributor spot for cylinder two would that make a difference? wondering because I try to turn my car over and nothing happened. right now thinking may need new battery or that I swapped wires at one point that were very similar in lengths.

The difference is the length. Most sets come with a variety of lengths. The idea is to use the shorter ones to reach the plugs that are nearer to the distributor. This prevents extra wires from dangling around, getting burned, chafed etc.

It shouldnt matter which wire goes where if the lenght is approx right You must have disturbed some other wiring if it is dead now & wont turn over or it could have been just time to go bad Good luch on your problem tvmanred
Three weeks ago the OP said, "... I try to turn my car over and nothing happened...."
He then mentioned 'battery' and had mentioned jacking (as in 'novice') around the secondary wiring.
I doubt we'll ever hear from him again.
