Superchips and the 4.0 SOHC

I'm looking at the superchips programmers for my 2004 Ranger, and want to know the pros and cons of this type of mod. Are the gains worth the sizable price tag? Are the benifits the same for an auto and a manual tranny? They claim to change the stock program in 200rpm increments to get max power throughout the range.....How much difference do they really make?

I have a Superchips Tuner for my 04 3.0L. It came with the truck, I bought it from my coworker and he gave me the tuner with it. I actually leave the stock tune on, it seems to make no difference at all. The only reason I keep it around is for the OBD-II code reader feature. If you get a tuner, Id say get an X2 from one of the two people. Both are very good from what I hear. If I was to buy another one, I would go with one of them. The X2 is the tuner itself, its mfg by SCT. These two sites sell the same tuner, the tunes them selfs are just made by two different people. Like I said though, both are very good from what I hear.

If your willing to spend that much buy the x-cal2 through Jusnes. I have one and it's significantly better in both power and milage.
