Throttle body spacer questions

So i have been reading a lot about throttle body spacers and i have herd some people saying that they wouldn't fit with a K&N intake. I was wondering if anyone had installed a TB spacer with a K&N and if it works. I have also herd some people saying they didn't get the whistle with the TB spacer, has anyone had some first hand experience with this?

Throttle body spacers do nothing to our trucks. TB spacers belong on carbed Small Block Chevys and Fords. Also K&N intakes are not worth the money. they look cool and sound cool but that's it. but as for you question, they can fit with some modification i believe there is someone on this site running that combo. anyway Welcome to the forum and post pics of the ride.

Why are you getting one? For the whistle? Why not install one of those aftermarket things that make the turbo sound? A third of the price!

jeff is talking about the tornado. an automatic turbo for your truck or car! but he's joking, dont actually get the tornado.

getting a TB spacer might actually hinder your performance. unless you have a tuner, and you can have it re-tuned for a throttle body spacer. but even if u did that id bet you wouldnt get much, if any increase in power. like will said, TB spacers are more so for carbed engines

if your looking for a cheap way to get a little power, go to ebay and look up Magnum performance module for your ranger, it's only 25 dollars and it does work I've got one, and I have a brute force cold air intake, I'll admit it's not like adding a super charger or something but for 25 bucks it's a good deal. here's a link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...A1%7C72%3A1171

If it worked don't you think everyone on here would have one? You'll be regretting it in the long run

well I looked at and said well it was only 25 dollars if it works it works if it don't it don't all you have to do is take it off it doesn't replace any oem settings just adjust the air fuel mixter for better hp, mpg, and torqe, and you don't have to worry about losing info if you were reprogramming it. like I said it isn't like a sc but it helped a little, alot cheaper than a tb, and probably does more hehe.

dont waste your money dont do it. if you do you deserve a kick in your sack. all it is is something the seller bought in bulk and an electronics store and claims it will give you gains but has no clue what to do with it.

The reason you notice a change is because it changes the air/fuel mixture to cause the truck to run lean or rich. In the long run this will ruin your cats, cylinder heads, etc, etc. You'll be paying for it in the end

yeah I know I just said that, hehe, Gives me a good reason to get rid of my cat's huh?
and Never seen them at radio shack oh well how long does it take for the cats to start stopping up, my truck is 6 years old and has 95,000 on it so the cat's going are obvious I'm not really worried but glad you guy's gave him the heads up cause I never heard any of this happening.

Most of those things, if they actually do something just make the truck think it is a certain temp outside and it dumps more fuel giving the perception of more power. How many wires does it have? Where is it hooked up?

it has two wires and hooked up to the airtemp sensor by the Tb wires. your probably right. but as long as someone else can avoid a disaster then great, nothing has happend yet as far as bad things, and I've had it for awhile.

dont waste your money on a new tb spacer..... wait til someone sells a used one. I got mine for a whopping $20 w/ shipping. A Poweraid (you know...the $120 one).

And YES it'll work for any intake. It's only an inch of length to the TB/intake manifold...I ran the K&N FIPK system WITH the Poweraid spacer.

I only still have it because I like the whistle. And it was on my truck when I got the best mileage numbers out of the truck(it was part of the combo of parts...I doubt it had anything to do with it.).
