towing a mako 17 footer

we are about to buy a boat and my dad doesnt think my ranger will pull the 17 foot mako center console- 90 hp mercury trolling motor and all....i wanted more opinons i was also thinking about getting a bama

You will without a doubt be fine! I pull my 22 foot boat with my truck and its a 2wd stick with a 4.0. Trust me you will have no problems at all. One thing you really need to do it get a heavy duty trans fluid cooler installed (something like 25,000GVW) and change your trans oil every 30,000 miles. Other than that, you are golden.

I don't know how this compares, but I pulled a 17' enclosed trailer w/ a Hustler Super Z mower(72") & an exmark (52") and my truck was on 35's & stock gears & it did okay.

i have an 18ft boat and my truck pulls it fine. just remember to stop a little sooner.

i would say about 2500 pounds at the most....
