Tranmission Compatibility
I have a 4.0 SOHC 2001 Ranger with a 4x4 5R55E. Will a 2006 4.0 ford explorer 4x4 5R55E tranmission bolt up directly to the ranger. Any help is appreciated

Yes,...............IF it is a 5R55E, could be a 5R55W and in that case wouldn't work
Easy way to tell
5R55E has a dipstick
5R55W does not, it has a drain/fill plug near center of pan
W also has different wiring for control
