I have a 92 ranger with a stock 4.0 L engine, I was wondering if the 96 t5 transmission will bolt straight up to my motor or if I need to get a new bell housing?

 

No, it won't.

Advanced Adapter used to make a 2.9l(same bolt pattern as 4.0l) adapter for the T4 and T5 trans, but they don't list that part any more.

T5's also came with different input shaft lengths so even with an adapter you have to make sure it is a T5 that will work on the 4.0l
