trouble shifting into reverse (auto trans)?

does anyone have any helpful suggestions about my problem? here's my original post in the drivetrain forum - perhaps I should have posted in here, there seems to be much more traffic:

slipping / grinding in reverse (auto trans)

Thanks for reading, any ideas at all are welcome.
