Power steering problems?? 08 Ranger

K so i got a 2008 fx4. I have a body lift with the steering extention. I know when i got my body lift done and the extention put in the steering was quite a bit stiffer than stock, but i got used to that..

NOW, when backing or pulling into parking spots or going around turns and stuff at very low speed the steering barely seems to work. I try and crank the wheel hard but its just so stiff and the truck will barely turn. As well, just the other day i was driving and all of a sudden the power steering basically cut right out for a brief few seconds and i couldnt turn the steerign wheel at all. Also, i went innto a wheel shop to have my tires rebalanced and they noticed my front end seems to have quite a bit fo play side to side to it..

any idea what may cause this? i got a decent level of power steering fluid.

Im confused, i want to take it in for a warrantied inspection and hopefully get it fixed but not sure if my bigger tires will void that warranty, i only have a body lift and that shouldnt void it apparantly.

According to Ford's service manual---Lack of assist or inconsistant assist can be caused by anyone of these issue.
Contaminated PS fluid
Steering gear
Pump itself
or restricted PS lines.

they might say the failure was caused by the extention.
