When was the last time it was done?

Do plugs, wires, cap & rotor (if the 4.0L OHV has a distributor... I'm not sure), fuel filter, air filter, PCV....

Done any fluids lately? Besides the obvious engine and transmission fluid don't forget both differentials and the transfer case!

Runarenis 09-05-2011 06:32 PM

im not sure lol ive done like oil and tranny recently. tranny fluid was brown. lol def needed it havent changed the difs and transfer case, but def have been checking them had a rear leak so i added some and fixed the leak was a tiny hole just put a dab of jb weld on it as a temp fix till i can get a new cover other than that i orded a new belt needs one for sure this ones getting really cracked ive had the truck 2 months now not sure what the other guy has done to it and when :( what i hate about buying used car/trucks

Runarenis 09-05-2011 06:32 PM

and i think it has a coil pack or something

FULLSCALE 09-05-2011 06:35 PM

If it has a coil pack then you definitely won't need a cap and rotor!

Clean the MAF
Change the upstream 02's, make sure you buy the right tool to do it. A 7/8 wrench wont get it if they are seized up.

If you are running larger than stock tires they will hurt the mileage pretty good. The truck was rated for 16/18 I get about 17 city in the summer and closer to 12 in the winter.

Runarenis 09-06-2011 04:46 PM

yea the tired that were on it were a bit bigger they were 245 75 16 the ones on it now and the stock ones are 235/70 16 lol

Blhde 09-06-2011 08:57 PM

245's are stock on my truck, check the door tag it will list the correct size. If you are running to small it will throw your mileage off along with the speedo.

Has anyone heard anything good or bad about the Pulstar Iridium Spark Plugs? Are they worth the money?

Blhde 09-07-2011 01:01 PM

E3's seem to have results, they are pushing dyno numbers and mileage pretty hard in the ads.

IMHO, save your cash run a copper plug and change it every 20k.

mdhenderson9 09-07-2011 01:22 PM

Thanks. I haven't found a parts store yet that knows anything about them. But they are 12.99 a plug. I also need to change my plug wires. Any suggestions?

Runarenis 09-07-2011 06:14 PM

yea i checked it today it is 235 lol idk why seems off
