Should I get JBA headers?

Will throwing on JBA headers on my truck make a noticable difference? Do I need EGR or no EGR application? Are they hard to install yourself? I see headers on JBA's website for 4.0L OHC, but not for 4.0L SOHC; is that the same thing? Is the stock headers 1 1/2"? Any info appreciated.

4.0 sohcs just dropped in price (about $100) so it makes it that much better. Here is EGR info:

The pics are a 2004. I "think" all but 2003 has an egr in the SOHC's. You need to take a look to be sure. SOHC and OHC are the same. Its either that or OHV which is for 2000 and older.

if you get headers, GET the ceramic coated ones..

They improve if you have teh exhaust combination to help yoru entire engine breath better Changing headers on a stock exhaust wouldnt do scrap for ya, because its putting the same amount through that it would normally, with only a very minimal change. I can tell from what I've noticed with my JBA ceramics and full exhaust in and out. there is a noticeable difference once you do the complete change from intake to headers to exhaust.. I'm debating on getting some new cats down teh line.. but the stockers are doing just fine for now.

Anybody have any issues running the plain jane stainless units??

I come from the painted steel or aluminized header world, aka 1971 Chevy Short Narrow P/U. lol....they be all rusty.
