Uh oh
About 3 weeks ago I changed my fuel filter and a week after that I had to put gas in my truck from an old gas can. I got a check engine light within ten miles, and the next day it went off so i thought ok whatever. But it came on today when i mashed the gas to pass somebody. Is there a way to check the light without a reader. Im thinkin its from low fuel pressure the filter could be clogged slightly. Is this possible? Ideas?

No. You'll need a reader or have it read. Got an autozone nearby? They do code pulling for free. Ford will charge $60ish)1/2 hr). And you know you shouldn't put in old gas right? Like...how many years old was it?

It wasent old gas jsut dads lawnmover gas :( Not mixed just not ethonal and probably not the cleanest.

Gotcha. I was just saying...I assumed it may be have year old gas. lol. I'm dreading pumping 10gallons out of my chevys tank when I'm ready to get it runing again...trucks been sitting for almost 3 years.

could be a misfire from slamming gas too hard

Is the gas cap tight? It could be throwing an evap. code.

/end hack lol. But the gas might have had some debris in it or water and clogged the filter. Best bet is like Shane said and hit up autozone. |
