Unplug iac and nothing changes
Unplug iac and nothing changes
I've had a misfire on 1,2,3, lean and rich codes for about 7000 miles now
the chain rattles as well I put in rear tensioner and gonna put front one in tomorrow it only rattles above 3k

Then you probably have a 1997(2001 in Rangers) to 2004/5 4.0l SOHC engine, they had the problem with tensioners.
Once you hear the rattle then damage is probably done.
The tensioners get loose and allow chain to beat on the guides, guides break and rattle is heard.
If unplugging IAC valve when engine is warmed up doesn't cause idle to drop down to 500rpm or engine to stall, then you have a vacuum leak.
4.0l SOHC had common leak point at PCV Valve hose Elbows, under side where you do see them.
But if you get Lean codes on Bank 1(1, 2, 3) then could be lower intake gasket on that side, cam could have slipped as well, that would also reduce power
