installing spark plugs?

installing spark plugs?

thought i'd try to put new plugs in today andi pulled all of them out and have 4 in and 2 wont go in...it seems like the threads are messed up or something but the plug wont wrench all the way in for some reason? anyone have something to help?

are you sure they aren't going all the way in? can you tell if they are cross threading?

they are for sure not going all the way in...some threads have come out of one of the plugs

the threads seem messed up..will prolly just take it in to ford tomorrow

I`d try a sparkplug hole thread chaser before bringing it to Ford. I had a plug giving me trouble and the chaser cleaned the threads right up. If you go this route here`s a tip: Put grease on the chaser to catch any shavings and use a shop vac to suck out any the grease didnt catch.

i had the same thing happen to me i cross threaded one of the holes in the very back. cost me alot of money to get it fixed. good luck

x2. I always have to do this on the middle one on the passenger side.

If it pulled the threads out of the head a thread chaser wont work.

that thread chaser is exactly what they used, but it was only 75 bucks so its not too big of a deal
