~2500lb with manual
~5200lb with auto

if the truck is properly equipped (electric brakes) and the trailer is distributing the weight right, shouldn't be an issue towing it.

Bolting it to the frame and running the harness for the trailor lighting. Its easy enough to do on your own if thats why you're asking.

Oh yeah!!! And like already mentioned, get yourself a trailer brake setup, and probably a tranny temp gauge.

Im not sure if your truck has a tranny cooler but its not a bad idea to get one too if you dont! My truck has the tow package which came with a trans cooler. If your towing long distance you sure as hell dont want to burn up ur trans!

It's also not a bad idea to run it with the overdrive off especially if it shifts in and out alot. A reciver hitch is a peice of cake to install, I'd suggest a tubular Hidden Hitch becasue they look nice and are more pleasing to the eye. As for the tranny cooler and trailer light wiring, your truck should already have both. Look under the rear bumper area and you should see the harness tucked up in there already. The trailer brakes are a must have. Rangers can pull alot of weight, getting it stopped with only the truck brakes safely is another story. I pull our 3500lb boat and trailer around in the summer about once a week to the lake and have no problems as it has brakes on the trailer. Make sure to change your tranny fluid more often than suggested because towing is hard it. I got mine changed at 20K miles and will change it again at 40K

if your truck is a 4.0L auto supercab from 2001+ you can safely tow 5000+ lbs. but, like mentioned before, have a tranny cooler and trailer brakes.
