a tuner does what it says....it settings can be changed in the palm of your hand.....a chip goes into the wiring to the PCM and can't be changed......

the XCalibrator is a chip and the XCalibrator 2 is a tuner....

look on www.sctflash.com ....they explain it better and have info about the Xcalibrators...
