13btt in my ranger? any info

ok i want to put mazda rx7 motor in my 1994 ranger and ive seen it done so i know its feesable. anyone have any info?? i would like to get a more unique swap then just any old 5.0 or any v-8 for that matter. im tired of seeing v8's in rangers and to me its just plain played out.....not talkin trash to anyone...just stating how i feel

no one on this forum has done that swap. you may get lucky and come across something, but I'd start looking on RX7 forums and get to know the rotary engine as much as possible. and the transmission it has to mount to.

what kind of budget and tools do you have at your desposal because about 90% of the threads that state similar intentions don't have the slightest clue what's involved nor enough pennies to buy a donor motor.

Watch out, the RX-7 engines are very low on torque, especially at lower RPMs. With the weight of a Ranger, it may not be the best swap.

Years back when I had a 1966 Porsche 911 (2250lbs), I had thought of swapping in a Mazda 20BTT 3-chamber twin turbo rotory from the Japanese Mazda Cosmo, but funds did not allow. Those engines can pump 500hp without breaking a sweat!

If you do this swap, I woul really recommend a 3-chamber, to give yourself a fighting change with torque to make it truly worth the effort.

dont worry if i ask its because im ready to do the swap....ive seen it done to a ranger here in dallas but i just cant seem to find the guy that did it...it was the same year truck as mine...and he was pushin 689rwhp...520rwtq....very nice engine bay but the body was sort of crappy
