Hm... those do look pretty nice tmsoko...wish i can do sumtin like that.

Well i believe i have the cast iron, cause mine dont look like the one in the first picture.

So i think my only option is to wait longer and save for the torque monsters.

They may not, depends on if they do the same clearing as the explorer manifolds, but it is unlikely.

Only way to find out is start measuring or try fitting them on.

alright so wha do i need to do for my throttle cable? do i need to get a whole new one, or is there a bracket that i buy? or new cable and bracket?

reminder: im not too educated on everything so you might have to put it in stupid terms for me. lol.

update: im having a guy come on sat. to do some wiring to run the fuel pump...an ill be ordering a new dual sump oil pan and oil filter relocator kit. (by the way..if anyone can post some pics of where they relocated the oil filter to that would be great..thanx)

Even with me doing the work my self, I still have around $1200 into these with the merge collectors and Jet Hot coating. They are the best option, but QUITE expensive! A full custome set would be Close to $2K if someone did them for you. It is especially tight in the ranger engine bay as you know and it takes alot of effort to work around all the parts. It is essentially impossible to make equal length in this bay, unless you want to start moving around alot of the other parts and mounts.

I did not have to use an oil filter relocation kit, just a shorther oil filter (ph43) .

well you dont have an explorer 5.0 right? so i'm guessing you might have to fabricate a custom one to hook up to your t-body. or use parts from one that mounts to your motor correctly and mix it with your ranger one

otherwise if you had the xploder motor you just get the cable from that

now for the motor mount plates...i could probably fab those too...out of 1/4" steel..my only prob is i dont know the dimensions. if anyone has done it before an has the dimensions plz let me know.

A set of stock 5.0L Explorer engine plates and engine mounts will bolt into your Ranger without modification and position the engine perfectly in the bay.

my only prob. is that i cant find those plates any where...ive been to the junk yard several times over the past few months and its either they had them, or there jus not there.

Ive also have been lookin on ebay an still cant find them...thats why i was lookin to maybe fab some myself but i dont have the dimensions.

Check the mustang boards too. On there sometimes. Otherwise, try www.car-parts.com

Not sure on the 3.0L. They have different durometers and a different bolt pattern on the driver side, at least that's how it is 4.0L vs 5.0L. Best to just get the Explorer mounts.

crappy news...apparently they discontinued the motor mount plates. although i was able to find the right side plate at a FORD dealership in Manchester, CT. so now all i need is the left side plate.lol. it jus gets better an better.

ok now transmission....c6 or c4?...i can get a hold of a c6 pretty easy but the c4's are a lil difficult to get.

correct...the c4's are hard to find around here. every junk yard i call they always have an abundance of c6's but no c4's.

now as far as installation for the c6..is is hard?

an why would i be concerned about the bell housing being non-removable? is it bigger then the c4?

not being removable,im guessing for when it comes time to replace the internals its a pain? C4 would be the best for the money, but yes they are harder to find as a result.
