If you would of named this thread "460 in ranger" you probably would of got a better response and opinions of everybody.

Umm..... No. You don't know how to read do you? Beard said 90% of the site is 98+ and there is only a small handfull of people with 5.0's in their 98+ Rangers. I only know of two on Ranger-Forums, and one has posted in your thread. Almost the first reply in this thread is the best reply for why 98+'s do it....it's almost a bolt-in swap that can be done in a short time frame.

Ever heard of the 2011 Mustang?? It's getting a 5.0...

Totally agree. I plan on running a carb'd 6.0 in my chevy someday.

'98 Continental with the 4.6L Mod motor......it really ain't that bad...but you can't get it past like 2300 rpm. Damn thing shifts on ya soooo low. Old man's daily driver is that Lincoln.

I ROFL'd at that...

And if that is your point, why name the thread the way you named it? hmm.

Aww **** it, I can't type like a retard anymore.
fact of the matter is, a 5.0 is not played out. When I actually see your motor, and the drive train together. With it running of course. Then I will think about your opinion. But now, honestly, all I can say is that we need D to rip you a new one.
hahahahahahah!! agreed.

While I dont agree the 5.0 is played out I will say that a 5.0 is a waste to put in. Doesnt make enough power to warrant the work it takes to fit it.

I can see it if you blow your stock engine and just want something easy to put in with a little more power but if your swapping out a perfectly fine engine for a bigger power plant I would go with something different as well.

That would be sweet. Or even a 2JZ-GTE. I think they would be too long for the engine bay though.

its doable, i can think of 2 rangers with the 5.9 cummins in them. and one with the 6.0. I am sure there is one out there with the 7.3

Hope he gets ready to be bent over when time comes for parts or other performance items. I love the 2JZGTE, I dont love how much everything for it costs.

EDIT: It looks like he is using the auto transmission for now. Bad news is ahead.
