5.0 swap help

I have an 02 ranger with a 3.0 v6 engine. The truck itself has been modified for offroad use and there are shock mounts added to the frame to fit the long travel.

I've heard that the 5.0 is the same size dimensionally as the 3.0 where its fits into the engine bay and i wouldnt have to further modify the truck to get it to fit. Is this true?

If so, what exactly would I need to swap this out, I have not done an engine swap before and im trying not to screw this up lol.

Check out the V8 swap section here:
https://www.therangerstation.com/how...-fuel-systems/

Feel free to follow up with any specific questions that remain. Lots of us have done V8 swaps into '98+ Rangers using the '96-01 Explorer V8 as a donor.

The 3.0l Vulcan is a 60deg V engine
302(5.0l) is a 90deg V engine, so will be a couple of inches wider than the 60deg engine

You can measure the current 3.0l valve cover edge to edge, far edges, 5.0l is about 21"

Heater box can be modified slightly to fit passenger side valve cover as needed

But it does fit just a tight squeeze
