Thought I would post a quick update. I've been driving the truck everyday for about a month now. Save for an bad alternator, the truck as been issue free. Even got the AC working perfectly. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me.

Looks good! Mine is on the road as of last night. Still need to get the A/C vacuumed and charged, plus finish a few side projects on the truck like rear shocks and some interior work. Otherwise, the new powertrain seems rock solid.

 

What kind of swap did you do in your truck?

 

5.0 from a '99 2wd Explorer donor. Paired that with a 4wd 4R70W I sourced on Craigslist and a manual shift 4406. Swap went into my '99 Ranger. Engine got a stock bottom end rebuild plus a mild cam with matching springs, then a 1" phenolic spacer above that.
