The aircraft I fly, (767) does very few "short legs". I do mostly coast to coast stuff. Occasionally Atlanta to DFW

i was just reading and catching up on this and when i came across everybody saying that banks sucks. all right maybe other companies make more power with thier stuff but banks is aimed towards making power while keeping clean emissions. when you can make a diesel run 200+ mph and have little or no black smoke, you make great products. just maybe not for racing or truck pull purposes. banks doesn't suck, he just makes road power within laws limits and with alot of kick. with fuel prices now i would spend the extra money to get banks' stuff b/c all black smoke is is wasted fuel and i like getting my miles and money's worth of fuel. but racing is different so cool beans for black smoke. i like it there but not on the road. so don't say banks sucks because he is the only one who has accomplished the emissions control and alot more power thing. sorry for the long post but i needed to say it.

You are completely incorrect with your assertions, but this is not the place to discuss it. If you would like here is a great place to find out how "Great" banks is. www. competitiondiesel.com. You have read way too many Banks adds. I get twice the power, and 2 MPG more than any banks truck, and my SCT tuner was 400.00. Go search outside of the banks circle and find out what diesel owners Truely think of Banks products.

If you like it, I love it, but there is so much out there that is much better, for 1/2 the cost, that is safer, and more efficient.

Sooo.. the S-10 ran a 7.70 in the 8th mile? Sorry if I don't seem too impressed. I know of a F350 Dually with a banks setup ( junk as far as most consider ) that runs 9.75's weighing like.. 6000lbs (?) with 4 skinny tires out back in the same distance.

I'm kinda itchy to see what your Ranger runs.

EDIT : Heres that total scoop on that banks truck..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Hfgm...eature=related

Its not a truck at all, its a full cr-mo tube chassis with a tin shell of a truck over it. Its not a modified vehicle like Pilots truck, its a purpose built race bed with LOTS of sponsor investment thrown at it. Might as well be a ' stock car ' as thats what it can be compared to.

Um, no, the truck ran a 7.70 in the 1/4! You are correct, most, me included think the Banks stuff is a joke. That truck however is definitely hauling ***. I am the least favorite fan of Banks, and with that kind of backing its definitely a step ahead, but I don't care who you are, a 7.70 at 176 is impressive as hell.
