ranger 302 questions

ok i remember reading somewhere that a explorer 5.0 from the same year as your truck would bolt in pretty easily compared to other years. what about mustang engines? my truck is a 94 and they didnt stick the 5.0 in the explorer til 95 i think. i found a 94 5.0 with 88k miles for $500 and its complete with harness/ect. so i was wondering if that sounds like a good deal and if it easier with a engine from the same year so the computer and everything mates up and i dont have to deal with too much ****.

thanks!~

Since yours is a 94 you could go either way really. The 5.0 Explorer swaps work good on Rangers of same year because all the stuff like the rad, coolant tanks, fuse boxes, air box,a/c and other stuff is a direct swap between the two chassis.
I just put a 95 stang 5.0 in my 90 Bronco2 and its going pretty good making everything work. If you can get a good motor and harness for 500.00 I would jump on it. You can get a manual from Harwood Performance Engineering Home Page to help you with wiring and other stuff. Its well worth the 25.00 if your serious about the swap.
