looking 4 info 97 4x4 5.0 conversion ///what it takes
currently i have a 4.0L auto o/d trans thinking of a 5.0 out of a 97 explorer,,, right now i am not sure what trans and t-case i have some of the questions i have is realated to "engine harness ,,ecm,,,state inspection issues in my state they only plug into the obd2 plug and retrieve info out of the ecm to determine pass or fail basically any and all info is welcome from bolt in's to electrical .. i am not really looking to go wild with a high performance build just a replacement when the 4.0 dies etc thanks for your interest and info

yes its helpful as far as emission laws OBD2 cars they just plug into the port and and see if readiness tests passed and to see if theres any DTC'S i was gonna go with a 97 exploer in hopes the wiring, sensor plugs and ecm plugs etc were the same to avoid changing the engine harness ,,, to sum it up was hoping to get the engine and ecm from same yr explorer .... i also am hoping my trans will bolt up to 5.0 thanks for your input
