Uncle is putting 4.6L V8 in his truck...

My uncle (same guys who's the mechanic and helped me put on my lift) got a 4.6L V8 from a police interceptor today at work. As far as I know I think the engine is shot but he took it home and is going to rebuild it and put it in his truck. The process will probably take a few months but when he gets it done it's gonna be awesome. He has a 2000 2wd XLT with manual transmission so I know it's gonna be fun when he gets it done. I will let yall know his progress as I find it out. Wish him luck!
I know you're thinking he won't be able to make it fit but I don't mean to make him sound like the crap but he WILL make it fit lol :)

Well one of two things will happen:
He will rebuild it and sell the motor to someone..
He will rebuild it and continue with the project.
He's crazy when it comes to engine swaps so if he does go with this then he'll make it fit...somehow. Regardless, I WILL take pics when during the process.

Actually, I think I'd just rebuild it, sell it, and drop a 5.4L in it. I can't remember the forum we got into a discussion on it about, as it was a long time ago, but if I'm remember correctly, the 4.6L is physically larger than the 5.4L. I know it sounds strange, but that's what I'm remembering, so I may be off base.
Regardless, the 4.6L is a damn good motor, very reliable when taken care of. My Crown Vic of the former police vehicle variety had over 120,000 hard driven miles on it when I sold it, and last time I talked to the guy who bought it, it had over 140,000 on it. Makes me miss it even more. :)
