Newbie here with 302 swap questions
I have parted out my 95 mustang gt, i still have the shortblock, trans, bellhousing and the rear end housing, what would it take to make this swap work into an older model ranger say a box style one....
i could use the ecu, the harness, and a bunch of other stuff i have left for the computer side right? Imput is appreciated, i am seriously thinking of doing this. Jason |
yes it will work... im guessing the engine is a 302? and what year is the ranger?

I am looking at two, one is a 94, and one is an 87. I have been kinda looking around on here and i haven't seen anyone who has finished the swap completely. Is there a thread with some pics of one completed, and such as that. Both trucks i am looking at are not running so i think i can have either pretty cheap

There is a forums search function. I recommend searching www.rangerpowersports.com for more info. Since there's a lot of currently swapped engines there. Go to the "V8 section"

first and second gen. rangers are a piece a cake to swap the v8's in. easy wireing, more space which makes it much easier/faster to drop in

thanks for the link, here there seems to be people talking about doing it, or in process, but not a lot finished work

there are a few here done.. but most are over at www.rangerpowersports.com

No offense but the ranger station is a joke. Well to me atleast. Lots of misguided individual over there.
I have one and it is COMPLETE! Personally i would go a carb'd setup mainly because wiring would be a nightmare. Main things you will need asides motor and tranny is the following items. 1. Oil filter relocation kit. 2. new radiator I used a 3 row (v6 ho style i believe it was. universal fit) 3. Engine mounts from rangerpowersports . 4. Might have to modify your transmission crossmember. I did for a c4. 5. alot of wiring and all will be cut and unusued with a carb setup. 6. 302 ranger headers (same as engine mounts) 7. Lots of patience and time. |
