help with motor mounts

Today i picked up the mount for my 89 ranger with a 78 351w in it. Takes a 88 mustang mount. My question is if i break another is there a solid mount to replace them and would it do any thing to the rest of the drive train and or radio?

There are solid mounts but I wouldn't recommend them! May be better off to get a higher quality replacement one.

You could always connect a chain from the engine to the frame so that when the engine 'twists', it won't stress out the motor mount too bad. Like FULLSCALE said, it is better to get higher quality mounts.

i know this tread is old but it is still a good one. if you break a solid rubber mustang motor mount you should replace it with one from a Mark VII. They are the same bolt pattern ( fox body ) as the solid rubber ones but they are a chain link style with rubber in between the links. they are also available on the 87 up mustang convertible 5.0
