C4 will be fine if you don't beat it and you maintain it!

Are you going to put that into your '99? You might want to do a little research on what all you'll have to do to go with a carb. You might find you would have been better off with the '01 Explorer motor.

Yea I hate Texas for that part.

Found this about Texas might want to check your state

Rules regulating engine swapping are not make/model specific. The simple rule is that a vehicle must have all emissions components that were present when it was manufactured, which may include:

PCV - positive crankcase ventilation
ACL - air cleaner (thermostatic air cleaner)
AIS - secondary air injection
EGR - exhaust gas recirculation
EVAP - evaporative emission
CAT - catalytic convertor
SPK - spark control
FR - fillpipe restrictor
O2S - oxygen sensor

yeah in kentucky we lost the emissons testing, so any thing i do does not have to be inspected, etc, but yeah i am keeping it carbed and just the way it is, just taking it from the truck its in to my ranger!

After reworking the fuel system, getting the engine to run is not the problem. Getting everything else to work might be a headache.

This is correct for Texas. Luckily, for most of the state, it is a visual only inspection, not a functionality inspection. *wink* *wink*

You're biggest headaches will be with the fuel system, guages, and wiring.

Where as, the '01 Explorer motor was as close to a bolt-in, plug-in swap as you could get.

yeah i know what stuff, just dont have to deal with a computer now and i am going to use aftermarket gauges, so wiring them wont be to bad, and the fuel system is going to be the hardest part i think!!
