It'll need a rebuild if you plan on using it for anything but normal driving/RPM range. Being a 96' and not having P heads (which is a + for swaps usually) you could use that as a negative to lower the price. Here that motor would go for $800 no problem, where you are, offer $400 and work from there. What all are you planning to modify? If it's more than simple bolt-ons, start with a roller short block.
