What is a B CAM?

i know COMP Cams, Crane Cams, Isky Racing Cams, and Lunati.

i think its a-e cams are a ford cam. google search b ford cam and see what you come up with. someone else will have more info for sure

Ya, for 5.0's, i think B-cams are now really out of date as far as gains vs $, but I could be wrong. And yes, they are FMS cams

Snow Wolf Jan 24, 2010 12:46 PM

oh i see
but i think i'll stick with my Lunati (info here)

im running a B cam in my v8 swap. If you have a summit catalog they have to FRPP Cams and it lists the sepcs of all their cams. Suprisingly the B cam is not too far off of the E cam.

yes 303 look like it would work good. i would need an F cam but, my 302 is non roller

I'm thinking, I'm going with the Lunati Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshafts Advertised Duration 272/282, Lift .517/.536, Price $159.69, Summit Part Number LUN-306A5LUN

but I'm steel looking

Yea B-cam is an old school ford cam. Its pretty good and alot of guys swear by it. As for you need an F cam, no chance imo. I have one. I hate it. Its main application is for turbo setups. The torque curve is way to high.

Snow Wolf Jan 24, 2010 03:47 PM

thats why I'm going with the Lunati
2500 to 6000 rpm should be just right for now

Downey Jan 24, 2010 03:56 PM

^^^ it would be great for the dunes or some place your going fast but not in a trail truck

Snow Wolf Jan 24, 2010 04:10 PM

a trail truck would be nice but i have a 2wd Ranger
so when i go off road i use speed and Momentum to get trough the tough stuff.

mlw20lu Jan 24, 2010 08:26 PM

mines 2wd too.. but a daily driver at around 55-65 mph

03bamaGT Jan 24, 2010 08:41 PM

E-303...that is all...

Snow Wolf Jan 25, 2010 02:42 AM
