wiring dummy

Not so smart when it comes to electrical. have a 90 ranger sticking a 78 302. down to few things and wiring to get it driving. I am wanting to just get it acting like its going to start at least before i totally finish everything. my problem is no spark. What is the bare minimum wiring can i do to get it firing. This is what i have tried figured it would at least give me spark.
I ran a wire from battery to bat side of coil other side coil going to breakless modual?? think that's what that is. three wires from distributor going into that modual also. still not sparking.
I am going to go have the coil and that modual checked make sure there still good but other then that i am really confused how to get spark. the wires from coil and distributor to the modual all came off the same mustang so i don't think i could have switch any wires around. Any suggestions or help?

I guess that you are using a ford duraspark box right?
The duraspark box has two plugs,
One with two wires (Red & White)
The other one has four wires (Purple,Orange,Green & Black)
Plug one with the two wires. Red goes to a key hot and the white one goes to the " i " terminal of the starter soleniod which should be one of the small terminals. If you soleniod does not have two small ones on it the hook it to the same side of the soleniod as the starter is hooked to.
The four wire plug goes like this.
The Purple, Orange & Black wires should run to the three wires coming from the dizzy, color for color and the Green wire goes to the Negitive side of the coil.
You should have a key hot to the positive side of the coil and it needs to stay hot while you are cranking the starter over.
This should make your ignition system work perfect for you.
