03' receiver

what tools will i need in order to take off the stock stereo on an 03' ranger because im looking towards getting a new receiver. anyone have suggestions with this?

there are small u shapped tools at auto parts stores call Ford radio removal tools..they are like $5.......or you can take the radio bezel out and then use a flat screwdriver to push the clips in on the radio....

I've stuck 4 small Allen wrenches in the holes and pulled the radio that way.

A couple of pieces of metal coat hanger should to the trick as well.

The radio removal tools work real well, they are pretty slick

I had to loosen the two screws/bolts on the uderside of the bezel to for mine to come out.

yea....ive never used one of those tools.....I pop off my bezel, then compress the tabs thathold the factory headunit in place and pull it out that way. I find it easier.

I believe you'll need a 8mm to pull off the two bolts above the heater controls. And a phillips to pull the switches and stuff off to get to the radio the way i pull it.
