Safe location to drill into the floor?

Greetings,

I need to mount my amp somewhere where ill have to drill and I dont want to hit anything so how do I know where its safe to drill? Is there somekind of diagram of the ranger floor layout? I want to put it under the driver seat but if its to big ill mount it on the rear wall.

Thanks for any help

Zack

unless its a small amp like tiny tiny tiny amp it will fit under the seat the rear wall you gotta becareful cuz you dont have much depth to work with before drilling through the cab

I see your a certified installer for something so where would you put it? I Just prefer to have use of my rear seats if possible( its a extended cab)

The amp is 2X10.25x12.50(HxWxL) Is it not possible to cleanly put it on the rear wall?

What would be the best way for me to secure the board there? I have perfect 3/4 MDF. I dont know if the jack is right behind your rack but mine is so I would have to angle the board slightly(it looks kinda like thats what you did)

Basically Im just looking for the best way to get that rack to stay in place while still having access to the jack? Some kind of hinges work?

i took the jack cover off and just carry my jack stuff in the bar. I think u used 1/2 mdf but i used 1 1/2 stinger screws and screwed them into the thing where the jack cover twists and locks the cover on then i took 4 truss head screws and screwed them threw the bottom of the floor and board. So i have about 4 screws in the middle and 4 on t he bottom also i cut the board so it fits very snug in the jack location

So Im installing right now, and im just waiting for the glue on the amp rack carpet to dry up a little more and I have just one question.

Right where you mounted the rack there is that little hump, all the way across where the jack sits. Am I ok drilling into that hump right in the middle just about a 1/4 of an inch to screw some support at the bottom?

Also, Could someone help me out on how I would go about getting the carpet up? I just need some suggestions on how to get it started because Ive never attempted messing with it.

truss head screws are heavy duty fat headed screws....No you drill the diagnally through the board and the floor to put pressure on the board
