3 10"s in a Standard cab

I was looking around and ran into this...

http://www.woodlawncabinetry.com/JL_...xes_Page2.html

It's near the bottom of the page.

3 10" W6s behind the seat. You gotta remove the jack, etc. but I could just throw it in my tool bag and toss it in my toolbox.

I would definitely do it!! It looks really good, too.

I'm gonna email them and ask them about a price.

jrpro130 03-21-2006 01:24 PM

nice, but how many clicks on the seat do you lose???

I don't know anything about reg cab mid size truck systems (well, a little bit) but thats a bit of a stretch. I had 1 10 in my ext cab and it fit perfect. it was 21" wide 12" high 12" deep

the specs they gave are simliar (if i remember correctly) and it's in a single cab

rolla_guy72 03-21-2006 03:27 PM

Wouldn't matter much to me, I'm only 5'0" tall...lol. They said only a few clicks, though, so I would think 3 or so from the back.

Skyjacker_44 03-21-2006 04:36 PM

dude i'm way ahead of you lol it's no problem if you gonna cut your cab and make 2 box's behind the driver and passanger seats...and run on in the middle of the seats i'v already got a box built up and but i just want it to be done in fiber glass and no i will not show pictures hahahahahah gonna make yall sit on it but it's very easy today.... you could even get away with doing it with the new12" RF punch 2 Shallow sub that they just came out with only like 3 inchs or 4 inchs deep....but yes it can be done

rolla_guy72 03-21-2006 05:18 PM

Well, duh! It has/can/will be done as long s there are audio enthusiasts with standard cab trucks....

As far as "cutting the cab"...wtf are you talking about??? All you do is drop it in and bolt it down.

shadyluke 03-21-2006 05:59 PM

eww thats gonna be areal tight fit. It would be better if it was only 2 subs. They really need more volume than that.

rolla_guy72 03-21-2006 09:07 PM

Took me forever to figure this out, but....

The JL 10W6v2 only needs 0.5-1.0ft3

Now, I had a sub box designed very much like that one, but much smaller, and the volume of that one was 1.4ft3.

So, yes it will work with 3 10W6v2 subwoofers.

I'm guessing that box has about 2ft3 of airspace. I emailed them about it, becuase I may be getting one if it is not too expensive.

Skyjacker_44 03-21-2006 09:41 PM

why cut the back corners out of the cab? so i can get exact space i want plus more for low end on the sub and honestly i could run 2 15's with the Cab cut...... i don't know why u don't understand what i'm talking about maybe i not speekin english but anyway you have the area behind your seats where your subs normally go..... well cut the cab in a square like shape add in sheet metal wioth braceing and deading so yuou don't hasve any rattles make box that fits in side the square so you have a box in a square that u cut out with a sub in it.... and all you have to worry about is these 2 squares that u can see threw the crack between your bed and cab.... but for me i don't have to worry about it cause my beds moved up 2 1/2 inchs closer to the cab

wocheck 03-21-2006 11:26 PM

I have a reg cab ranger and had a custom box made for 2 10's. It looked similar to that but smaller, i got rid of it after 3 weeks cuz of the lack of space and how uncomfortable it was to drive with it.

quest51210 03-21-2006 11:40 PM

or you could fit my 12W6 in your truck and JL500/1 i have in classifieds ;)

ThsIsSktboarding 03-22-2006 08:52 AM

does anyone think that a 12" alpine type-s will fit behind the passenger seat of a '93 standard cab?

Skyjacker_44 03-22-2006 04:20 PM

anything will fit just depends on how far you want to go

rolla_guy72 03-22-2006 09:21 PM

Oh, I'm just want a sub or two and an amp in my truck...

I'm not going to cut a huge hole in my cab and bed to get some bass in my music...

That's just rediculous. Did you even look at the link?? It's just an MDF box that goes behind the seats.

birdie2000 03-22-2006 09:45 PM

i say give it a shot...if you dont need all the room then its not a problem.i bet that it would bang...i love w6's

rolla_guy72 03-24-2006 02:54 PM

I'm trying to get all my info together to send to them for a quote... probably gonna be about 250 bucks... I hope not, though.

rolla_guy72 03-27-2006 11:27 PM

UPDATE!!!

I just got an email back from Woodlawn Cabinetry...

I was thinking 200-300 bucks.... Take a guess.

165-185 Bucks!!!! No ****in' WAy man!!!

Of course, you gotta ship it.

derekxec 04-08-2006 07:02 AM

why not go with 1 or 2 ported instead? it would hit alot hard than 3 sealed and you probably wouldnt lose as much room
