Both options are over kill. 2 12"s will be more than enough bass for a ext cab.

If you build a quality box and get nice equipment you can pound 2 12"s, just have to get it tuned right. What are you currently running now?

Your analogy is ridiculous! People with 1 and 2 subs have vehicles that fit 1 and 2 subs. People with 3,4 and 5 subs have vehicles that fit that many. Just like people with 33's have them cause that is what there truck can fit. I want 44's but doesn't mean I have them. Peoples vehicles are built for different reasons. If you want 5 subs buy a mini van!

Ok...I've heard a Ranger with 2 15"s and its not worth it, takes up too much room for the box and it sounds like crap because all you hear is bass and no music. But i guess the 'cool' thing to do is fit as many subs in as you can.

Im not worried about the "cool" thing im worried about the best sound and 2 15's only over power your speakers if their not amped up as well ill have my 1000 watt amp left over to power my 4 6x9s then they will be in no way underpowered to 2 15"s worth of bass...

I dont want to fight yall its what i want i know its not what you want.. i was just wondering which would be the loudest/cleanest...

Whatever, you won't listen to what we say anyway. I've heard a Ranger with 2 15"s and amped speakers, I'm not just making stuff up of something I read online. Your truck/money

Hey dumbass. Look at my truck and look at highrollers! His is built for it mine is not. Which goes back to my original point. Yours is not built for 5 subs. Get with the program!

Okay well you look like the dumb ***.. if you would have read a single post i posted you would see there is no talk of FIVE subs anywhere.. no where the most is 4 and thats only one option then 3. And you COULD build your truck to fit 44's and im GOING to build mine to house UP to 4 subs.

And on the amped speakers note you can always add more speakers and amp them until it sounds right.

So im tired of arguing over this if your not going to help dont start an argument please. You guys proved your point i proved mine all i want to know is what your opinion is on which of the options i provided... that's all i didn't want to hear that's to much bass... but i did its over lets just drop it then...

1 15 should be more then enough, unless you want your truck to fall apart.

Yes I could build my truck to fit 44's. No you couldn't build your truck to SOUND good with 4 subs. What are you going to do extend the cab 3 foot? If you do the math on how much CU. FT. a sub needs to sound good then you will find out that 4 subs in a ranger will not be good.

Do me a favor and go to your TV turn off pimp my ride. After that go to your radio and turn off 2PAC. Now come back to the computer and go to google and do a search. See what good info you can come up with.

As said by REDNECKSTONE, find the search button and make sweet love to it.

Then when you realize you are crazy and stupid for wanting to waste your money on something that will be ****ty come back and apologize to Trent and myself. Thank you and have a nice day.

Without a doubt my car audio dealer has fit 8 in his own ranger. box on the bottom holds 4 then a box mounted on the ceiling of the ranger dropping down with 2 inches between each box speakers facing down and up... i guess this just is not an audio enthusiast forum ... most people think 33"s are crazy and people here have 35"s every where and higher guys are dropping in power strokes in rangers and such ill just see if this can be removed im sorry if i bothered anyone.

Mods if you see this topic please remove.

And no i do not think i am crazy or stupid because ive seen many rangers with over 4 subs and it sounded Great.

Why? Why do you need THAT much bass? I prefer cleaner sounding bass and being able to actually hear everything clearly and crisply.

As do I. I usually have my bass turned down a lot so I can actually hear the music. I am much more into quality than quantity, but I like being able to turn it up and rattle other peoples cars. I also have the Type-Ss in my doors amped. They sound really good imo. I take great pride in making my stereo actually sound good and not just loud.

Weird, I usually have my radio off or really quiet when I'm off road. To each his own I guess.

Edit:

One thing to keep in mind is square vs. round. Square 15" has more SA than a circle 15".
