For the wiring guys

Hey guys well i purchased one of those boxes for the OEM radio in which you plug into the spot where a 6 disc changer would go for a hookup of an MP3 player. I got the box and wires from a local car audio place but am having some trouble. I hooked up everything and im getting ALOT of alternator whine in the sound so i know i can get a filter for that but my main problem is the fact that the music when played through the MP3 player, only comes out of the passenger side speakers. When the normal radio is on or just a regular cd speakers work fine. Im lost on what could cause this bc the only wires i had to hook up were a power and ground to the new box. Any help would be a big help thanks - Jay

sounds like maybe one of the rca connectors arent hooked up good. thats a possibility for the one sided sound... for the whine, where did you tap your box in for power? (does it need power?) where/ how good of a power supply can make a difference

I'm thinking about getting one of those too, but i'm leaning toward this one:

USA SPEC DF-FORD20 adapter

Nothing to do but plug it in to the existing connectors behind the radio and mount it, and it has good reviews. The only things i'm wondering are, can you get a female mini jack to mount so you just plug your mp3 player into it, or do you have to plug it into an unsightly cable, and if I need a line amp to bring the audio level up to the proper level.
